Does GGlance work without my phone?

No. A Garmin watch cannot read a CGM sensor directly, so the readings travel from your sensor to your phone, to your sensor maker's cloud, and then to your watch. Your phone needs to be online and uploading.

Can I use both Libre and Dexcom?

You pick one source in the app's settings. Everything after that, the glance card, the graph, the colours, works the same either way.

Which Garmin watches and CGM sensors work with GGlance

Garmin watches

GGlance is a Connect IQ app, so the rule is simple: if your watch can install Connect IQ apps, it can run GGlance. That covers most Forerunner, Venu, Vívoactive, Fēnix and Epix models from recent years.

It installs as a glance and widget (the free app), a data field (also free, for inside a workout), or a watch face (a paid, one-time purchase, replacing your watch face itself). Garmin allows custom watch faces on fewer models than it does widgets or data fields, about half as many at last check, so check that specific listing's compatible-devices list before buying it.

FreeStyle Libre

Any FreeStyle Libre sensor that shares to LibreLinkUp works, because that is where GGlance reads from. Your phone runs the LibreLink app, LibreLink uploads to Abbott's cloud, and GGlance signs in as a follower to read the values.

The important consequence: GGlance never touches the sensor itself. If LibreLink on your phone is not uploading, there is nothing for the watch to show.

Dexcom

Dexcom support goes through Dexcom Share, which has to be switched on and actively sharing with at least one follower. Unlike Libre, you enter the login of the person wearing the sensor, not a follower's.

Dexcom ONE and ONE+ cannot work, and no third-party app can change that. The reason is in why Dexcom ONE is not supported.

Your phone, online. GGlance reads from Abbott's or Dexcom's servers over your phone's connection through Garmin Connect. No phone, no readings.
The sensor's own app running. LibreLink for Libre, the Dexcom app for Dexcom. They are what upload the data in the first place.
A GGlance install from the Connect IQ Store. There is no account to create with us. The app and data field are free and always will be; the watch face is a separate, one-time $4.99 purchase.
